Are you just trying to format your Sansa's disk and start fresh? If so, the
best thing to do is connect it in recovery mode mode (while your sansa is
off, switch hold on, hold record and plug in the usb cable). You will then
see a 16MB disk appearing. Then copy an empty file called 'sansa.fmt' and
unmount/eject the disk. This will format your sansa's data partition.

This will of course wipe all your files from the Sansa. Also, make sure not
to copy ANY other files over to the 16MB partition.

I'm assuming you're talking about the e200 series Sansa. I'm not sure if
this method also works for the c200 series.
