Thanks for the suggestion of the link. My H340 was starting to do the
same thing, although now it's doing something different.
Anyway, the settings are stored in config.cfg in Rockbox. So for some
reason it's not loading it. Maybe run a chkdsk /f /r on the drive.

Batteries do get old, depending how long they've been in and the number
of charges. Easily fixed, there are 2200 MAh batteries on EBay with
instructions and install kits for cheap, install one of those. If not,
something in the charging circuits is broke and you'll have to see if
iriver will repair it or if you can find a parts h340 and transplant the
circuit.
