I don't quite understand why my iAudio X5 does this.

It happens when I'm vigorously skipping between tracks on the player (i.e.
it doesn't occur if I'm just letting each track play subsequently, in full).

The hard drive loads constantly and extremely heavily, yet only a few
seconds of the offending track play, then it stops for a few seconds and
keeps on going. It will continue doing so till I skip tracks again.

There aren't any "specific" files that this occurs to.

The hard drive works just fine otherwise (i.e. copying large amounts of
data).
