If you actually intend to speak on the list, and aren't just observing,
it's strongly recommended that you choose to get it as individual
messages so that you can preserve threading and be good list citizen.

As for your bootloader question, as long as you aren't experiencing
problems with the current one, you should not update. Generally
speaking, the bootloader can be left alone unless the new one will
address a specific problem you're having.
