yes, that's true.

no, unfortunately not. The Classic is completely different hardware,
plus its firmware is completely encrypted. This makes it much harder
to run custom code on it as on the older Ipods. In fact, I'm not aware
that someone was able running custom code on it yet.

Well, unfortunately there's not much you can do about that. Given the
fact that you haven't bought it in your city returning might not be
possible so you could just try to sell it on ebay or something
similar.
