Why not? Also, for ipod, booting with hold on instructs the bootloader to
boot the Apple OS. And since the rockbox USB stack is not yet enabled is
regular builds, plugging the ipod in with the hold switch on is a common way
to quickly get it registered by the PC (plugging in with hold switch off
would boot rockbox unnecessarily which would then reboot to diskmode, which
also has slower transfer rates than Apple OS - another reason to do it this
way)
