merit in creating a "certification" or a database of "thumbs up"/"thumbs
down" to track which themes have compatibility issues.

I know that personally I have problems with themes that set only a few
select parameters (I believe this is what's going on, anyway); remnants
of the previous theme will be left behind--fonts, colors, WPS
backgrounds--I have seen poorly-written themes do this. Maybe a script
could check the theme to see if it does indeed explicitly set the font,
WPS background, etc. Maybe the standard needs revising: the theme MUST
explicitly state these parameters...

I would be willing to do theme testing and possibly (if I can scrape up
the time) to research and write a VBScript or something similar to dive
through themes and make them standard--remove unused files, check the
theme's settings, etc. Anything like that that would be helpful.

I do see a point here, and it would be ridiculously cool for themes to
be seamless--through the initial installer.
