Yes I understand, I will remember that I must still update both .rockbox and english voice file. It is pity that newer voice talks slower than older voice but I respect it.
But I agree that Rockbox should be give the question or notify there are not the same version Rockbox and English voice file.

  If it is not possible / not wanted in the Rockbox firmware, maybe the Rockbox utility should notify the user that the device has older voice file, and ask him what to do -
  1. Update voice file to existing version (the version that is currently installed in the player).
  2. If there's a newer version (current build / release) than the existing version, it should ask the user to upgrade the version + talk files.
