Were you actually getting 16 hours, or was Rockbox just estimating that
you have 16 hours of battery life left? The time remaining estimation
has historically been inaccurate and unless some patches have been
committed that I haven't seen, it still is. The only way to actually
know how long your battery is lasting would be to do a battery bench on
both builds. This outputs a log that can then be looked at to see
exactly how your iPod is discharging as well as giving a final time when
it dies.
