It might be useful to run a battery benchmark on a current build and
whichever the previous build you were running was in order to
objectively show there is a difference. If you do not have the older
firmware, perhaps someone can build it for you. This page describes the

Make sure that the device is fully charged before each test and have the
same playlist be run at the same volume/same everything. Also, try not
to touch the player after the initial setup to eliminate the chance of
your actions draining the battery unevenly. After the player dies, you
can recharge it and there should be a log file on the device that you
can then share.
