Sorry to hear that.

Can you report exactly which version of the bootloader and main rockbox
firmware you put on the player?

There is a small chance it's not actually bricked but just locked up
with the display disabled. Try holding the power button for up to 30s,
This forces a hard poweroff. You may hear a faint click in the
earphones as it powers off.
