I just purchased a Sansa Fuze V2 the other day, and to my dismay, there's no
way to patch the firmware so that it will boot up with Rockbox. The unit
came with V02.03.32, and I used the updater and installed the V02.03.33
firmware from Sansa. Now I can't even get it to load the older V02.02.26
firmware that the Rockbox web site points us to. Is there anyway to do some
kind of reset to get things working again, or can the machine be patched in
such a way to get it to accept the Rockbox firmware? Or am I just
completely out of luck? Thanks for everything.
Hi Brian,
Support for Fuzev2 OF 2.03.33 has been added in r26230
<http://svn.rockbox.org/viewvc.cgi?view=rev&revision=26230> .
Try using the Rockbox
<http://www.alice-dsl.net/dominik.riebeling/rockbox/rbutil/> Utility SVN
binaries (make sure to read the disclaimer first), to install Rockbox to
your device.
If that doesn't work, contact developers in IRC
<http://www.rockbox.org/irc/> .

Tomer
Hi Tomer,
Well once again, I was able to successfully compile things, but after
rebooting the Fuze, it still wants to load the Sansa firmware. In fact, it
acts like it just rejected the modified firmware, and didn't even make an
effort to install anything. Just to see if it would install firmware at
all, I reinstalled the 02.03.33 firmware, and everything went just fine. In
fact, it was like I had completely refreshed everything.
So for what ever reason, my Fuze doesn't like modified firmware. Any and
all help would be greatly appreciated.
Blessings,
Brian
