Ports are never planned. Ports happen when someone with the hardware
wants to work on it. Rockbox started that
way, and continues to work that way to this day.

If you yourself can't do the work, maybe you can talk to a local
friend with the knowledge needed and maybe
collaborate with them. Think of it this way... you'll learn a lot, and
that's not a bad thing! :)
