Usb is supported on the ipod video. However, you don't say what the usb plug
in your car is used for. If it is for charging or for "pc-like" hard drive
storage access, it should work fine. If it is for commanding/controlling the
ipod then again it should work, although you may need to turn on Accessory
Power Supply and/or Line Out in your ipod settings. This should already be
documented in the manual.
