spent the evening trying to install rockbox on a 60GB ipod photo. both
manual and auto install procedures appear to work without error but
the thing wont boot past the apple logo.

but no resolution and no idea if he managed to fix it.

Removing the bootloader results in a working ipod again but I'd really
like to get rockbox running.

flashing from Debian wheezy 64 bit. (also tried debian squeeze 32
bit). tried with and without sudo and also directly from root login.

any help very gratefully received.
