That sounds like an iPod Touch, which is not supported by rockbox. The 3rd Gen iPod rockbox supports is one if the original non-touch ipods.

You are right, it has a touch-screen.

  No, rockbox doesn't have any wifi capabilities. But are you completely certain that the ipod 3g has wifi?

  * My son has an iPod 3G, 32GB, and he gets on the web with it.
  It has no camera or built-in microphone though. I had an 4G 8GB, and it had a camera and built-in microphone.
