Yes; the 'lock' button, if you prefer. Turn the lock switch off, press the
select button to turn on the ipod and then immediately turn the lock switch
on and leave it locked until the Apple firmware boots.

The 6 oclock position does NOT boot into the apple firmware, the above is
the ONLY way to do this. Regards.
