Can any iPod Classic people confirm or deny that line out works? It says it does in the wiki, but I've just plugged mine (160GB latest gen, just bought in September) into my Apple universal dock. It does technically work, but the audio is clipping and incredibly distorted, yet low actual volume. Headphone output works normally, including while plugged into the dock. Is this an issue with my unit? Has anyone else experienced this? If it is a unit issue, is it possible that flashing MCore is what caused it?
The dock works with an iPod Touch third generation and a rock boxed iPod Video 60GB.
I haven't tried restoring the Classic to iPod firmware yet.
