I do believe that there is value in an option that prevents clipping,
particularly if it can be implemented in a platform independent way. I
don't really see the need for umpteen different clipping algorithms
though. One should be sufficient, especially if you can choose whether
to use it or not.

I like the idea of having 0dB be line out level. That does seem to make
a lot of sense.
