Replying to myself; more clues...?

This is only a problem if Dir Cache is enabled. Presumably this indicates
that the problem occurs because the .talk clip playback isn't waiting
properly for disk spin-up.

Having disabled Dir Cache, my voice crashes seem to have vanished (albeit
only for about 10 minutes testing)!

Also note that this problem doesn't seem to be reproducible in the sim.
