Date: Tue, 17 Apr 2007 12:54:05 -0500 Honestly, I feel it's less useful than the percentage display. 10hours 35minutes remaining tells me nothing if I know my battery typically lasts 6 hours, and I'm not sure how long I've been using it (or how much charge it's lost from sitting.) Meanwhile 76% remaining means I know I can expect about 4 and a half hours. While the runtime feature seems useful, I think its practicality is far overrated. It's best case, as you said, and it assumes a particularly usage habit and battery condition. Also, it was stated that it was needed for the Recorder V1, which is not "all Archos targets", and reduced binary size is helpful everywhere, even if it's only "essential" in certain places. Though frankly I'm surprised it's needed even there. Anyone with the technical knowledge care to give a summary (I'm not doubting that it is needed, I'm just curious why, does it have to do with the difficulty measuring the voltage?)
