So you don't agree with your own commit?

Also, please stop using words like "frustrating" and "annoying" as if
they are facts for everyone - I've never been in the least bit
frustrated or annoyed by a splash. You clearly are, but that's not the
case for everyone.

IMO, until a better solution than what was there before is found, we
should leave it as it was and hence r21307 should be reverted.

Or is the general feeling that this change is better than what was there
before?
