IIRC there was another trick to boot the OF, besides REC, double or
multi tapping the play/power button, did you try this?

The beast has proper buttons, no touchpad, it won't take the drive
from the iriver and battery time is much shorter than 16 hours, i'd
guess at 8-10 but it is an otherwise nice player, about half as thick
as a h320 and the same size otherwise.
