using the latest build as of posting time (r23367M-091027) from SVN when i encountered this.

mpegplayer plays the video at thrice the speed. only noise and crackling is being heard before the actual sound of the video is being played without any display but with clicks and pops.

Hi, a fix for mpegplayer was committed by TheSeven today, so could you see if this problem is gone with r23587 or later. btw the "M" in your revision number indicates that the build is built from modified source, please test using a build from clean svn sources before reporting problems in the future.
