DetailsHi,
On a iriver H3xx CFmodded, I've got 1s pauses mainly when I skip tracks. The playback of the new tracks starts for a second or so, then pauses for a second and then the playback resumes. I think it also happens on buffer refills. It started between rockbox 3.4 (which is OK) and 3.5. TIA |

FS#10919. I'm tempted to think it's the same issueEffectively, it seems the same issue.
What should I do now ? Update there even though the bug description says it's on ipod ?
FS#10919- does the problem go away if you reset to default settings, and if so then what do you have to change to make it reoccur?Do you have a theme with large album art?
What format is your album art in, and is it the right size for display or does it get rescaled?
- WPS : cabbie v2 unicode with 75x75 BMP album art
- can't remember the name of the font, not the unicode default one
- no equalizer
- no crossfeed
- replay gain set to album or track when in shuffle mode (with preamp to the max)
Can you try with larger art, or with JPG art, and see if the problem goes away? (yes, larger is counterintuitive)
I'll try with the JPG original files and report back.
What I did was :
- rename the cover.bmp to tmp.bmp for some folders
- set rockbox to make a playlist with these folders
- wait for buffer to be filled
- skip a few tracks 'til the buffer needs refilling.
The result was a 1-2s pause at track start.
I'll now try with setting back to defaults.
I've attached the previous settings for reference.
And the problem got back just the reboot needed to activate the disk cache.
Re-disabling it gives no pause (the next track keypress that triggers the buffer refill is just a little bit longer to kick in).
Re-enabling it gets the pause back.
I reverted settings back to default and then only activated disk cache : no pause...
Not easy to spot...
FS#10919which was solved.
