FS#11465 - Volume needs to be turned down on FM radio when voice is reading items associated with FM radio.

when the FM tuner is turned on and say that you want to go to Add a Preset you cannot hear thevoice over the radio. this should be controlled where the Fm volume is turned down and the volume of the voice is turned up just like in playing regular music.

Which player do you have? Unless the FM tuner has it's own volume control this won't be possible.

Playback mixing is done in software, FM mixing is done in hardware and turning down the FM volume would also quieten the voice. I suppose the tuner could be muted temporarily but I doubt it would sound nice….

As far as I know, FM input is often done through a line-input of the analog codec, and many codecs have support to control the gain/attenuation of the line input. Sure there may be players where this may not be possible, but I see no technical problem to implement something like this for those that allow it.

Hello there,
I have two players. I have the Sansa Clip Plus and the Fuse V2 and it affects both players. If it can't be changedthen maybe the voice may have to go from the tuner because you can't hear the voice very well at all.

I can confirm this on my Clip+. However, I have found that I can mute the tuner and hear the voice perfectly. I also retain all other functionality from tuning to saving and reloading presets. I then unmute the tuner when finished, and I hear the radio again. I can't speak for any other player, but on the Clip+, the play/up button mutes and unmutes the tuner in Rockbox.

I'd also like for this to be implemented into Rockbox if it were possible. I have the same problem on both of my players, a Sansa Fuze V2 and a Clip Zip. Of course, muting the tuner works though, the play / pause button on both players does the trick.
