FS#11713 - Next Track indicator not working reliably

Player Type: FuzeV2 (currently missing in the Player Type drop down list)
Reported Version: r28442
WPS: CabbieV2

The Next Track label in the WPS often goes out of sync. It’s easy to reproduce by skipping three or four songs waiting a couple of seconds between skips. The Next Track shows the same track as the playing one and it stays like that until backlight fades off. When moving the wheel to turn the display on again it shows the correct track.
First I thought it was due to metadata unknown until buffering, but I tried changing the WPS definition to show only the file name and it causes the problem too. Also, since the player is Flash based I suppose it shouldn’t take more than 10seconds (backlight timeout) to buffer the next track metadata.
Sometimes a single track skip is enough to trigger the problem, but it does not happen every single time. Maybe it could be a timing issue with the “update screen” signal?

Thanks in advance

I couldnt reproduce, reopen if this is still happening

The next track info is so called “static information”. It’s only fetched when a full wps update is requested. That usually only happens when the wps is entered, on track change, when next track info is ready, or when targets that can deactivate the LCD wakeup the LCD again (and maybe more cases I can’t remember now). I think the latter is what you’re seeing. And somehow the full update on next track info ready isn’t working reliably anymore.

Can you try going to the main menu and back to the wps once this happen? If I assume correctly then it should also bring the correct next track info.

Yes, going to the main menu or the playlist viewer and back to the WPS refreshes the info. It seems only the track change event that sometimes goes missing.
