FS#12006 - Android: OGG, SPX, MP3 playback problem
I’m using revision 29572 of android port. Host system is Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800, with 240×400 resolution display, with version 2.2 (Froyo) of Android.
The problem is as follows. When trying to start playback of OGG or SPX files, the playback does not start occasionally (the change is maybe less than 20% to have playback). By rewinding randomly it is possible to get it start playback. The same behaviour occurs when starting from bookmarks and from file explorer. The problem occurs with default config file.
Tried with MP3 and had the same problem. The problem may be with other codecs as well but I have not tried it so extensively.

Problem does not occur with Android Eclair (2.1) on my phone. I faced the problem when I upgraded my Android system.
I have the same problem. When I select a file for playback, it does not start, but scanning forward slightly will get the playback going.
rev 29922 and using it on motorola defy 2.1 and a htc tattoo with cyanogenmod 7 2.3.4.
Can you try if this is possibly related / improved by
FS#12064?Dominik: I tried patch v3 of #FS12064 yesterday, and noticed no change at all.
Can you try the first patch in the task? The latest (i.e. v3) patch doesn't work for me while the first does.
Dominik: Ok tried now. Unfortunately it seems that neither that patch does have effect in my device.
Anyway, good to hear that someone is trying to figure out this problem:) I am willing to do my best in testing.
Please try current svn, some improvements have been committed yesterday and this morning.
Tried but still no change. :/
Is this still an issue with a current build?
Yes. Tried a moment ago with revision 30203.
Great news! Now it works! I traced back to the revision 30239, which fixes this problem – i.e. 30238 does not work and 30239 works.
Now there seems to a new issue with pause/stop functionality. Stop is causing segfault, pause/unpause is not working either as it should. I can report more precisely as a separate bug, or should I do it here?
I found a workaround to the bug I described in last comment: press pause with widget, wait a second such that rockbox icon disappears in icon bar and press top. Then you are free to choose another bookmark/playlist/whatever or continue playback by pressing play/pause in widget again.
