Hello with all! I transferred the file ajbrec.ajz on my Archos to retie (the Rockbox file) being already present, because I had already installed other Rockbox times; and there, today: impossible to start again Archos! What to make? It is urgent! Help me! PLEASE.

In what way is this a Rockbox bug?

Hello, it is Rockbox bug, because it is after having transferred the file ajbrec.ajz, that I do not manage any more to start again my Archos, whereas I had already done it before without any problem. Thank you. "Retie" is : start again ; How i can change the title of this task ? Thanks.

What does it say on the LCD when it starts?

It makes as if it were going to start, and once "the small boxes" filled, it dies out all alone. And, the same day, a few minutes before transferring ajbrec.ajz, it went! Is it possible to force it to start ?, because, I tested with another hard disk and there, not of problem.

You should try that, and also try to replace all of the Rockbox files, not just the ajbrec.ajz file.

That does not go, in fact, while retrying, I saw that "the small boxes" do not fill, and that there is no light either, the red button also does not ignite, and only the message "archos jukebox recorder and the boxes" appear and as soon as one relache the button "one", very dies out! Fortunately that I have another hard disk! I do not see any more making? If somebody has an idea, say it to me, it will be the welcome!

Undoubtedly, I gave the other hard disk then besides and there all functions perfectly, but on this disue hard, there is not rockbox.

Then try to remove Rockbox from the hard drive and try again.

When can i remove rockbox ? The archos doesn't start. How can i make that ? Thanks.

Try to connect the USB before you start the player. Then it will bypass the firmware loading and go directly to USB mode and not attempt to start Rockbox. If that still doesn't work, it is not Rockbox that is at fault, but instead the battery or the hard drive.

So does this happen again if you put a fresh new fine build on the player or was this just a one-time bad-luck weirdo problem?

do not know if it were right a blow of malchanche, because I do not have retryed since, and I acknowledge that I hesitate to do it. Yew I retry to make Rockbox, I will indicate to you if that functions well or not. For the moment, I am not decided to make it more especially as my led-scren is broken, and that one sees only one part of the screen. Moreover if you know somebody who would have some with expensive step, I am interested, because on www.newmp3technology.com that remains rather expensive in particular because of the expenses of delivery.
