Hi @ all!

On my Archos Studio I have a annoying bug. It's the same in Rockbox! 2.5 and CVS-060904.

When I cange the volume directly from the while-playing-screen (ON + UP / DOWN), sometimes (now nearly all the time) the playing song becomes "pitched down". This means the song plays slower and the tone also becomes deeper. The only way to get normal sound ist to reboot the player. I got no problems when changing the volume via menu --> sound settings --> volume.

The files I use are various MP3 with bitrates from 128kbit/s to 192kbit/s, constant and variable ones.

Does anyone know how I can solve this problem? Thanks a lot!

If I understand your comment correctly, it's supposed to behave that way. The volume is not accessed using 2 simultateously pressed buttons, just use the up or down buttons.

from looking into the code and the manual changing the volume is done using Menu+Up/Down or Menu+Left/Right.

Please report if this applies.

With rockbox! 2.5, in the wps volume for the studio models is accessed by pressing down the [menu] key ant then [+] (right) or [-] (left). [menu] and [stop] (down) activates and releases key lock.

After a full crash (damn USB1 transfer...) I re-installed 2.5 and now I hadn't had the problem for quiet a while. I hope it won't come up again....

as far as I understand your comment you are now using different key (Menu+Right / Menu+Left) than in your original post which stated On+Right / On+Left. From the documentation the combo using On isn't for changing the volume, so it appears you are doing it different now.

AFAICS this task could be closed according to my understanding -- could you please clarify?

Sorry in the first post it should also be MENU instead of ON, my mistake. But anyway, the post can be closed. The problem doesn't occure anymore so far.....
