I don't think this bug has been reported.
Bug happens on at least iPod Nano 2GB and 4GB
ROM firmware 1.11 (4GB) and 1.2 (2GB)
The bug happens from version daily build 20060917
When turning the volume wheel the volume will update for a bit then stay constant, then after keep turning the volume wheel it will eventally move forward, the amount of movement doesnt appear to be constant. i.e 0db to -7db will update 1 db at a time, then you keep turning the wheel a few times and it stays at -7db then it will move from -7 to -15 1 db at a time, then stay, etc The next time you try it might go 0db to -8 db.
This is while playing OGG and MP3 files (no other files tested, so may be others)
This didnt used to happen so I have checked a few of the daily build, the problem only happens 20060917 and onwards, 20060916 and below are fine.

It seems like all actions performed in the wps are slow after the 20060917 build. It also takes longer to play/pause and change tracks. Since that build introduced some changes to the scheduler I assume it was these changes that introduced this problem.

Scrolling in menus and in the file view while playing a file is still smooth. It seems like only the wps is affected.

I have the 1.11 firmware on a 2GB nano.

Confirming this behaviour with the 20060923 build on a 4G monochrome iPod with the latest firmware.

I've just noticed on the 20061020 build that when paused the controls respond correctly, hope this helps in fixing the problem.
