Details

When scrolling with the 5G iPod in Rockbox it appears to be very sluggish in comparison to other models such as the 4G. Sometimes the scrolling is quick, but then after a few pages it becomes slow and sluggish. To get the scrolling fast again, one needs to stop scrolling then start again

This is because the iPod is currently too slow to decode audio and scroll through lists at the same time. It's even more apparent on the 5G since it has a higher resolution screen than the 4G and is in color. This means the 5G is pushing way more data and has to do more work to update the screen.
