after the installation of the current build and reinitialization of the database the database → A…Z → artist/album menus remain empty. the database information seems to be present, the list of tracks is working

Is this still an issue for you? Are you using the official unmodified tagnavi.config file?
Does it happen regardless of what music files you have present on the player?
Could you provide a sample file that doesn’t show up in the list?
yes, i just upgraded to the most recent current build and the behavior is the same.
btw: the global track list contains files, so the database is not empty
i didn’t modify tagnavi.config or other files (unzip rockbox.zip; unzip rockbox-fonts.zip)
not sure, as i didn’t want to erase the collection i have on the player right now …

No problems here with the e200, r16929 and the default tagnavi file. Matze, do you see anything under those menus at all? It should start with “Numeric” and then have a folder for each letter of the alphabet. Or is it those folders which are all empty?
i just upgraded to the most recent version and now everything works fine :)
