FS#9794 - Manual installion section of Rockbox Manual refers to outdated error message
The “Manual Installation” section of the Installation chapter of the manual contains the following note:
“Note: If the contents of the .zip file are extracted correctly, you will have a directory called .rockbox, which contains all the files needed by Rockbox, in the main directory of your player’s drive. If you receive a ‘-1’ error when you start Rockbox, you have not extracted the contents of the .zip file to the proper location.”
The “-1” error message has been replaced with the more descriptive message:
“Error!
Can’t load rockbox.ipod
File not found
Hold MENU+SELECT to reboot
then SLECT+PLAY for disk mode.”
The manual needs to be updated to reflect the actual error message.

This is only true for some targets, the iriver bootloaders still display the -1 error if they can’t find rockbox.iriver.
