FS#11657 - Someone has broken the metronome plugin in 3.6
Somebody broke the metronome plugin? There is no longer a way to quit, the menu and play/pause buttons appear to do nothing, but I have generated this error with the play button: “*PANIC*
flush_fat_sector() - Could not write sector 308453 (error -51) {little square consisting of eight dots}”. And I don’t know how to replicate it but I have generated two or three divide by zero errors (may have had something to do with the tap function) in a brief usage. I assume the bug applies to all players, but I didn’t test with others or with emulator, so confirmed only with ipod 5 80gb.

It may be not very intuitive, but on an
iPod Video you can leave the plugin via
PLAY + OK. Tested with r29209.

i dont know how to replicate the error generated by pressing the play button either
Could you please try this with a current build?
With current svn, they buttons mentioned in the manual work fine. Those are *not* the buttons mentioned on screen though.
build r28243 (there ought to be a way to find this out in rockbox)
if you mean finding the build revision then it is in main menu > system > “rockbox info”
No it isn’t, (at least not in version 3.6), I seem to remember build no. used to be found there, as well as on the startup screen.
Tamlin Arthur Parker Green (foe),
What version were you actually using to reproduce this?
You mention r28243 (which by the way, you could have found the version number with Jonathan Gordon (jdgordon)’s advice), but you also mention 3.6 which is very, very far from that revision number (it’s r26535 to be precise).

Well I obviously failed to install it correctly, first I installed the stable build with the rockbox utility, and then, after having backed up the .rockbox dir I overwrote it with the contents of rockbox-ipodvideo64mb.zip (which had ‘r28338’ next to the url), but if this was a failure it seems curious to me that it would boot at all, and into the version 3.6 OS that I had replaced with the contents of rockbox-ipodvideo64mb.zip. I have now installed r28338-101023 and can confirm there is no way to quit the metronome and menu and play/pause buttons appear to do nothing, time may reproduce the other mentioned bugs. This build, as well as the apparently failed installation before it, both broke my wps (foe.wps attached) I replaced wps and themes directories and config.cfg from my backup and executed foe.wps from the file view to no avail.
None of the .wps files appear to change anything except rockbox_default.wps which of course yields a blank screen.
The theme context changed, the wps needs updating. This isn’t a bug, and even if it was it has nothing to do with this bug.
Please excuse my ignorance of the change in .wps code
