FS#11981 - Replaygain makes volume too low

Ever since 1-2 weeks, or so, ago, replaygain has been making my music files incredibly low in volume, even pre-amping in replaygain is too soft. This gets much better if I disable it, but I would rather not. I cannot give an exact date because I don’t always use the daily build, but I usually update it on a daily basis.

Fixed with r29509.

What is the gain of one of the files that ends up too low?

And what does rockbox show? And what kind of format is it (e.g. ogg, aac, mp3, …)?

OGG, MP3, probably others but I don’t have any other formats. This is ALL of my files. All of my files have replay gain and all of them are too low, and pre-amp doesn’t do anything.

It also affects music without replaygain tags.

? Your last post struggles me. If files w/o replaygain are affected, it is not a replaygain issue… Can you make available files wihch show this bevaiour? Or can you give some more details about the gains / peak of such files?

Got it. :)
Please check r29509 and verify if the bug is fixed for you.

Thanks, it’s fixed. Also, it only affected me when I enabled “prevent clipping”
