FS#1394 - Displays directories but no songs, won't play.

After installing the Rockbox AJZ file on my Jukebox
recorder 6000… it worked at first, but then after shutting
down and restarting it just shows the directories and sub
directories, but there are no songs listed… if I just
try to play whatever might be there… nothing happens.

I’m having the exact same problem with my v2 recorder. When
I first loaded some mp3, it displayed them fine, but now
after rebooting, the mp3 are not displayed (directories and
subdirectories show up, just empty). The mp3’s show up under
windows no problems, and they show up when I boot into the
Archos firmware. I tried completely wiping rockbox and
reinstalling (deleting the .rockbox directory and the .ajz
file) but it didn’t help. I also tried maxing out the number
of files in a playlist and number of files in a directory,
without sucess. Even the root directory which just has a
couple folders and a single mp3 is not displaying.

I’m very frustrated as Rockbox seemed to be vastly superior
when I was first able to use it.

Model: Archos JBR V2
Archos ROM: 1.40a
Rockbox version: rockbox-2.1-recorderv2.zip

Please let me know if I can provide any additional
information to help track this one down, and I will be more
than willing to try to provide it.

Thanks,

Mike

What is your “Show Files” setting (accessed via F2 or Menu-
>General Settings→File View→Show Files)? If it’s set
to “Playlists” then mp3 files will not be shown. Change to any
of the other options to be able to see them.

I recently updated my playlist with some new material, and I
can not view ANY of the songs on my Jukebox Recorder 20. I
loaded the songs last night, and this morning I was able to
play almost any song. I did have a few songs that didnt play
on my PC either, instead I got directed to a Windows XP error
page, something about migrating software registration and
other nonsence. When I tried to play the same song on my
MP3 player, no love. Since rebooting, I cant see any of my
files… only the directory. Please Help - I really like this
program!

That was exactly it. Thanks, Mike
