FS#1546 - Files greater than 30Mb using SPDIF just makes crackle sound
I have a Recorder 10 with ROM firmware 1.28b and the
latest bleeding edge of Rockbox.
When trying to record DVD soundtracks from the coaxial
Digital out on my Toshiba DVD player to the SPDIF in on
the Archos using the highest quality settings (quality
setting 7,) any file greater than 30Mb just makes a
constant crackle. I did a test recording of only a few
minutes using the same above setup and the recording
was fine.
Analogue recordings have no problems, just direct digital
recordings, by the way.

There is a problem in the MAS chip that
can give this
behaviour. There is
no workaround, except ensuring that
you
have a perfect clean S/PDIF
signal. Sorry.
