Well, it says it all.
Having a search function with the text viewer would be
the first step towards a phonebook replacement. (would
allow me to leave that palmV at home).
Would be easier to use those FAQ on the archos too.

For most comfortable use, I imagine an 'incremental
search'. This implies searching is done simultaneous with
the typing, what is not possible at this time
(plugin_api->kbd_input() is quite synchronous). An
incremental crawling through the file typically prevents
typing too few chars or too much, busting the search.
Furthermore, it's ressource needs should suit to 'our'
reserve.

Combined with another mode of entering text (either for
searching or for creating new 'phonebook entries') it
would complete a small notepad.

I see the advantage in enhancing the text viewer
towards an editor instead of programming a
phonebook-application, which would never suit everybody
and begin with beeing overkill.
