FS#2450 - Won't power up
I have an Archos FM recorder. I load rockbox and was
able to browse to some of the new features. After
shutting it off, the unit will not power on again. If I hold
down the ON button it would just repeatedly show green
light, HD would spin for a bit and then shut down again.
Now here is the strange thing. Since I had no way to
get to the HD, I began taking it apart.when I removed
the top panel and put it back on, the unit would power
up and stay on. I tried it again. I shut it down, then
tried to turn it on…nothing, I took off the panel and put
it back and then it booted up. Now that I can get in to
the hd, I connected to PC and remove rockbox, powered
down. The it powered up without a problem. I formated
the HD, load rockbox and firmware and now it won’t boot
unless I open and close the top panel. I really like
rockbox and would like to keep it. Opening and closing
the top panel also erases the time and date.

Please explain to us how and why this is a Rockbox bug.
I apologize if this should not be catogorized as a bug but my
archos FM jukebox will not powerup with rockbox 2.4. powers
up fine without it.
Since you can change the behaviour by removing the top
panel, how can it be a bug in Rockbox? I suggest you take it
apart and adjust the battery connectors, and also repair any
broken solder joints.
Hardware problems are not Rockbox bugs.
