Archos Jukebox Studio 20 ROM 5.03, 40GB drive upgrade

Ever since I installed Release 2.5 my Jukebox is always
in Shuffle mode. If I delete Release 2.5 and reinstall
it and go to Playback, Shuffle is Off by default. I
leave it that way and go to a music directory and try
to play a file and it always shuffles first and plays
something else. If I turn Bookmarks On and create a
bookmark and turn it off, when I turn it back on it
never asks to play the bookmark any more. If I go to
Recent Bookmarks, it is there though.

If I go to Version under the Info menu, it says “Can’t
open /.rockbox/”, yet using USB mode the .rockbox
directory shows up and seems fine.

Any ideas as to what is wrong? I have seen no one list
any problems like this and have to assume this is not
so much a bug as some kind of installation problem. I
tried reinstalling versions 2.3 & 2.4 but they behave
the same way. It isn’t until I go back to version 2.1
that my Jukebox works normally. Sure could use any
help anyone can offer. Thanks.
