DetailsHi, I'm new to Rockbox and all this hacking my ipod stuff, however all this talk of the ipod being able to record high quality audio got my interest. Installed rockbox, works great, but still no recording. Any plans to include this feature in new versions of the software? Can't wait untill ipod linux for the 5gs comes out. Thanks!

i never have a mic that works, so i just plug in my headphones and use the left channel as a mic.
and sometimes it sounds better than a mic ever could.
i would really like to have this feature on my ipod 5g.
too bad i can't code or anything ;\\
they wrote in the wiki: "Recording on the Nano and the Fifth Generation iPods is also not currently supported."
maybe apple had disabled this function...or some hardware limitations.
greets fabifri (my english isn't very well..but...)
there is no internal amplifier on the line-in jack for the ipod, so to record from an external microphone one would have to use an external amplifier. (imho, this is actually good news as well: most internal amps aren't good enough to make good recordings).
The idea would be wiring a line-in jack to the line-in pins on the dock connector. I don't know if it's possible to phsyically hack the original dock connector, But you manage to do that, it will work.
