I always like IPods way of rating songs. Personally I use song ratings more than I do playlists and thought it would be cool to have the center wheel click (on e200 anyways) bring up a separate rating screen and then the scroll wheel would rate 1 - 10 stars, clicking the center button would lock in the rating.

As it stands now you have to hit the bottom "playlist" button on e200 (not sure about others) then find the rating menu option, then rate the song and get back to the current playing song. This is very difficult to accomplish without having to completely take you eyes off the road.

well, if a rating screen was added it would in all probability be put where that rating item is in the menu, so wouldnt make it any easier.

Wish to reiterate that this would be a very nice feature for rating files while exercising or driving. What about putting such a rating system in the Quick Menu? Currently the scroll wheel does nothing in that menu, so other functions would not be altered.

My thoughts were something exactly like Jonathon (on 10/29) is thinking. When driving its a pain to look down and navigate to rank songs ... I do the majority of my playlists based on rating and this makes it difficult. Maybe a long push of the center "Select Button" (Inside Circle) brings up a rating screen and then scrolling ranks ... that would be cool IMHO.
