I just ran into a similar situation with a Sansa e250. I was copying a file from the 4GB SDHC card to the internal memory. I ran out of space in the internal memory (confirmed by booting into Sansa firmware & looking at space used), and it sat at the "Copying" screen for well over an hour. I finally powered off.
I filled the disk on my Sansa c240 and now it can't find any files on its filesystem (only my microsd card appears in the file browser). How do I recover from this?
for me rockbox doesn't freeze, but if the disk is full and i create the database, rockbox needs about one minute for one step in the "searching…" phase.
