FS#8695 - USB Audio

Sometime in the far-distant future, could the ability to use a Rockbox mp3 player as a USB sound card be added?

Closing all feature requests.

I would find this feature useful when I'm at work and want to listen to something on the PC (which doesn't have a soundcard).

The task was closed with the reason "later" and I agree that it doesn't make too much sense having loads of feature request open for features that are unlikely to get added in the forseeable future. We don't have USB UMS fully working yet …

IMO this task should get closed and reopened later. Plus, I believe this has been requested before which would make it a duplicate.

Might it help keep the USB stack kind of modular for when you do USB OTG? If you were developing more than one device class at once you would be less likely to have the lower levels of the USB stack only useful for UMS.

Sorry if it's been requested before, I couldn't find it in the list.

The stack is modular, but that has nothing at all to do with OTG (USB is a strict master-slave system, which means that host and device drivers are totally different).
