This is happens to me a lot, and always did since I started using rockbox, so is not a problem with the latest build.

This is how it happens:

- I add an "album" to the playlist that has few, but very long songs (it happens a lot since I listen to classical music mostly)

- rockbox plays normally until the last track;

- when at the last track, the playback will freeze some minutes before the end of the song)

- usually, rockbox still works, it only does not play. I can press play/pause: the "play" ico on the "playing now" will change, but the song will not play (and the timer will remain still). I can also fast foward or rewind, but the playback will remain as it were paused (even if is not). Sometimes, though, rockbox will freeze completelly.

- if I choose that last track directlly (without putting the whole album to play), it will play without problems.

Ive seen this happen with regular mp3, VBR mp3 and ogg files, so it does not seens to be a problem with an specific format.

Is not really a bug, there was something wrong with my rockbox. I completelly removed it and then installed again and the problem is gone. Sorry about that.

I think it is related to  FS#9049  I have the same bug on my Cowon X5. Got this bug with mp3 320kb, flac...

I think is related, since the "symptoms" are basically the same, but in my case, it always happens has that: I add a bunch (usually four) large songs to the playlist and rockbox will freeze the playback near the end of the last. The freezing is exactlly has described in  FS#9049 , though.

Just an update: I said "long songs" but actually, it also happens with short songs as well. But in any case, it always happens at the last song of the current playlist. It does not happens every time, but every time it does happens, it happens at the last song of the playlist, and always near the end of the song.

I just had one of those freezes. This time though, it was a very long song (almost 30 minutes), mp3 VBR, but this time it wanst the last of the playlist. Also, it wanst near the end. So perhaps it has nothing to do with that either. I wish I could edit the original post to leave just "Playback freezes in iPod 5.5G". I wonder what could be causing this? Do anyone has a clue? I could try to help, I only I knew where to start looking for.
