FS#9786 - browsing through playlist interrupts playback

hello!
im using release 3.1 on my iriver h320.
as soon i change the default (helv 12) font to e.g. “terminus” (also 12pt),
browsing (holding down the up/down-button) in a (long) playlist is interrupting playback.

Should be fixed with r28877.

Is this still the case on a recent (i.e. curernt) build? There were some optimisations to the font/screen redraw code that should make scrolling through lists more efficient and less prone to skipping. Or, it’s possible that the playlist viewer is missing a yield. Out of interest, what kind of audio files are you playing (format and bitrate, e.g. vorbis 500kbps), and do you also have any eq/crossfeed/dsp processing effects turned on?

hi!

yes, its still the case. setup: iriver h320, current build (see date of this post) and font: 12-terminus

Do you have dircache enabled? If not, try enabling it and reboot.

hello!

yes, i have dircache enabled ever since it was avaibalbe.

Hi Oliver - would be great if you could also reply with answers to my other original questions (what audio format files are you listening to, what bitrate, and do you have any EQ settings / dsp effects / etc). It’s possible that your audio settings might be using too much processing power (but we won’t know unless you can tell us your setup).
