Rockbox Voice Files
Introduction
This is the place to download voice files for making Rockbox speak. More info on how to do this can be found here. Note that you need Rockbox 2.3 or later for this to work at all. If you do, select a suitable voice file from the list below but keep in mind the version of Rockbox you are using, as changes have taken place over the years. If you use a voice file not matching your Rockbox version, nothing will go wrong, but it's possible that not all of the menu entries, settings, and so on, will be voiced. Starting on 11/18/07, we use a speex codec in rockbox for the voices on swcodec targets. You must pick up a new voice file if you don't have an archos box. We have daily built files (for archos and others), on the daily builds page. Voice Files for Builds Between 11/18/07 and 8/06/07
Starting on 11/18/07, the voice files use a speex codec for non archos targets. You will need to pick up a new speex voice. Archos units can still use the same voice file. These are backlogs of voices usable with builds from 8/03/07 to 11/18/07. These aren't speex voices. Outdated Voice Files
