Sansa e200 WPS config file gallery

ROCKboxed

Version 1.1

This theme is inspired by the Rockbox logo. Originally created and tested on an iPod nano. I've modified it and tested for the Sansa e200 using the uisimulator software.

• This theme disables the default statusbar in both the WPS and "Files and Menu" screens.

Rocker

This is a little theme I created because I wanted to keep my musical roots while listening to music on my iPod. Very different WPS view I took.

RettumBox

A theme I made a couple of months ago and have been using since then.
Battery meter in 8 steps, volume in 10, hold key icon, and alternating codec info (8 secs) and next song info (2 secs).

Added an alternate background and backdrop (wps/RettumBox/bg_alternate.bmp and backdrops/RettumBox_alternate.bmp), which need proper renaming to make them work. Also added wps/RettumBox/bg.png, the original layered copy (editable in Fireworks) which may be useful for porting.

Plain & Simple

The title says it all. Album art size is 158x158. Helvetica 12 is clean and very legible. The only little bugs are if your song titles are really long and scroll over the volume and play/pause/ff/rew icons there's a bit of a glitch, and as the date and time change they shift around a bit on top. Works with the current build.

Plain & Simple (ViewPorts)

Same idea as above but using viewports to fine-tune the text location as I originally intended. Progress-bar, shmogress-bar, I know where I'm at. Scrolling problems and date/time movement are no longer issues.

Cabbie 2.0

Sansa e200 port of Zinc Alloy's Cabbie 2 theme. Works with the current build. If no album art is present, the second frame is displayed. Ideal bitmaps are 120x120.

Cabbie 2.0 w/ HelvR12

Cabbie 2.0 updated with a larger font for us geezers who have trouble reading HelvR10. It uses viewports now and the album art was shrunk by a few, hopefully unnoticable, pixels (116x116).

This is a makeover of Mike Kasberg's DockPodAA theme (which was based on Matthew Schneider's and AJ Ashton's themes).

Note: The various screen dumps on this page may give a misleading impression of the real screen size of the Sansa E200 MP3 player. Importantly, the fonts used in a number of themes which seem OK to read here may be too small for some users once uploaded into your player. This is because the number of pixels per inch (PPI, not to be confused with DPI) of a typical PC monitor is much fewer that the PPI of the Sansa player.

The song information shown is (from the top down) artist, title, album and info about the next song (alternating between title and artist).

CoolRead (red, purple, blue)

A theme based on negicatcher for readability, but heavily reworked and incorporating ideas from acotil for a 'cool' look - similar to Windoze Media Player. Works with standard builds.

Features include: changes from 'battery%' to 'battery-time-remaining' when paused; color-coded volume and battery displays (incl 'running on fumes'); FFW and REW buttons light-up when used, plus the animation wheel replaces the volume and turns either fwd or reverse as appropriate (ani wheel stutters back and forth when paused), etc.

Includes backdrops in red, purple and blue (the variations shown in the screenshots), and comes with the nimbus-19.fnt. See also my Pirates theme below for other screenshot variations.

Pirates (red, purple, blue)

An update of CoolRead (above) with a 'Pirates' theme backdrop (no pirated music here!). Has the same features as CoolRead, and again created with the red, purple and blue backdrops. See CoolRead for other screenshot variations.

(Although created to look similar to Pirates of the Caribbean, the backdrop drawings are reworked captures of other graphics.)

UPDATE - version 2:
I decided the theme wasn't 'Piratey' enough, so have added a couple of new fonts to the mix. The default font is now 'PirAntiqua-19'. I made this based on a modified and cleaned up (for bitmap use) version of the free font "Delitsch Antiqua". It mixes a certain 'Pirate' flavor with fair readability - though still not as clear as nimbus-19 (which is still included and can be selected manually - see the purple FFW screen above for comparison).

Also now included (but must be selected manually) is 'treamd-19', a conversion of the free Treasure Map Deadhand font. This is far more 'Piratey', but even less readable - so a matter for personal choice. [ TIP: for budding Font editors: I used, and can recommend, Fony. It's a free, simple, non-installed, bitmap font editor that can import installed TTF's and export as BDF's: http://hukka.furtopia.org/projects/fony/ ]

KratoJetVP (ViewPorts port of KratoJet)

This is a port of the KratoJet WPS to use viewports instead of customline. It was a pretty quick port. Just move some things around on the WPS file. Original WPS on rockbox-themes.org by kratonator & Jeton. Released under the creative commons share-alike license. Port to viewports by digerati1338 (MikeKasberg).

Miss LED Natural

This is a simple recolor of the "Miss LED" theme present on www.rockbox-themes.org. I thought the colors on the origional were a bit off, mainly the LCD screens were too blue and bright, while the darkened green LEDs didn't seem right as dark-aqua.

Screaming Oprah (ViewPorts)

The worst theme ever made! Illustrates the beauty of pixel-point text placement by having the song title and artist streaming in and out of Oprah's mouth. I took the photo myself, unsure of who's responsible for the paste-up.

RettumBrokenGlass

When I first installed RockBox and started playing around with the themes, the biggest worry on my mind was breaking my Sansa. So, inspired by that fear, I bring you my first theme Rettum Broken Glass. This is based on the RettumBox theme with my own custom background added. Enjoy!

AllOverMe

This is just a copy of the good Cassette Theme by GermanGatica which I got from rockbox-themes.org altered with additional Information on the Track and a really more realistic Battery-Display and also more suitable Volume-Bar. The Font-Color is changeable to your needs. Only the background Color has to be some darkish one.

Razor

I made this theme with transparency in mind, it's purpose is to display album art while still conveying a good amount of info. This theme has four versions, One version has equal length Artist/Title bars, while the other is slightly more irregular, the remaining two are the same, but each has the codec and bitrate information removed.

arboxWidgets

This theme was ported from the iPod Video version. It was created with the goal of displaying as much control information as possible, also including some Rockbox powerful features, not so usually displayed in other themes, such as crossfade or replaygain modes. Each “widget” allows a quick visual setting’s control or information status check. Works on recent official builds. Better with 75x75 album art size. Enjoy!

this is a modification of simpleWPS. albumart is 175x175 in size, so it is as huge as you can get it on the sansa. the trackinfo is changing after 10 seconds from "now" to "next" track.

2001

This is a simple theme based on the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey". The WPS features the lovable HAL 9000 computer, using its logo as a progress bar, and the "1 of 2" line alternates with some information about the file (eg, "128kbps MP3"). 2001 should work with any current official build.

This theme is licensed under the GNU GPL, version 2 or later.
