- It is hard to tell if the recorder is old, but the Rec6 and Rec10 are old. The new versions have the text "HD-MP3 Recorder" above the function buttons and "USB 2.0 Hard Disk" at the bottom (old versions omit the 2.0 part).
- The V2 and the FM Recorder look exactly the same apart from the printed text.
- The status of the port. Supported is defined as having been officially released (numbers in angle brackets indicate that a port has an upcoming version that will denote that port as Supported). Usable refers to a state where a common user would find the device "usable" (the ability to get through a playlist without glitches and other factors contribute towards this). Partial status denotes a state inbetween "Usable" and the start of a rockbox port.
- Requires special drivers as the USB chip is not USB mass storage device compliant.
- The old player has a limited LCD with no support for double line height and only four user definable characters instead of eight.
- The early V2 models were in fact FM Recorders in disguise, so they had the FM radio still mounted.
- The international H3x0s come with remote without display and poor functionality, LCD remote is available as an accessory (but it's hard to obtain one outside of Korea); The US models come without remote control of any kind, they are compatible with these for international models. Also, the H1x0's LCD remotes can be used with any H3x0 player. For reference see KeymapIriverHSeries
- There is an adapter available for charging from your host's USB cable, but that is a cable that splits the USB and power and uses the iriver's standard charging plug. It is not charging via the music player's USB.
- Originally only US models; SanDisk site (e.g. this one) states that the models available in Europe have no FM radio. It's not clear whether it's just disabled in the firmware or the DAP has no FM chip -- both variants have been reported. If the DAP has the chip, FM would probably be enabled after RockBox is installed. But the US models are also sold in Europe (e.g. on Amazon). So you can consider them as two subtypes of the same player -- one with and the other without FM. More recently European models are available both with and without the radio.
- There is a good chance that most (if not all ?) players sold as "without radio" still have the hardware in which case it will be usable with rockbox. - I heard of two cases so far and I've been told that even before people could enable the radio by installing a different version of the original firmware (MarianneArnold).
